About Phillips Tile

Phillips Tile is a family run tile and flooring company based in San Diego. We were founded in 1991 by Tim, who built the business through steady work, referrals, and a reputation for doing things right.

Tim learned through years of hands on experience, discovering what lasts, what fails, and how to build tile installations that hold up over time. That foundation still guides how we work today.

His youngest son, Hunter, grew up on job sites and began working alongside him. Over time he developed both the technical skill and attention to detail that now shape the next generation of our company.

Today we continue as a father and son team, combining decades of experience with a strong eye for design and layout.

How we work

We do not follow shortcuts or trends. We use proven waterproofing methods, careful preparation, and materials we trust. Every shower, floor, and backsplash is built with the goal that it should look good now and still perform years from now.

We focus on:

  • Solid waterproofing behind the walls

  • Straight lines and clean cuts

  • Thoughtful tile layouts

  • Installation methods that last

Tile is permanent and we believe it should be done that way.

Craft and Design

We bring both experience and design to every project. Tim provides decades of technical knowledge and precision, and Hunter brings a designers eye for layout, balance, and detail, especially in niches, feature walls, and patterned tile. Together that means your project is not just installed but carefully considered.

A family trade

Phillips Tile is not a franchise or a sales company. We are a family business built on trust, skill, and doing things the right way.

From 1991 to today, our goal has stayed the same. Install tile with care and let the work speak for itself.
